Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BudgeHQ (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and application (the “Service”). We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to run the Service, and we never sell your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. You may optionally provide your name, which is used to sign the messages you generate.

Content you enter. To generate a follow-up message, you provide details such as a client name, invoice amount, and how overdue the invoice is. We store the messages you generate so you can access your history.

Billing information. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. We do not receive or store your full card details. We store a subscription identifier and status so we know which plan you are on.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and operate the Service, generate the messages you request, manage your account and subscription, enforce plan limits, and respond to support requests. The invoice details you enter are sent to our AI provider solely to generate your message.

3. What We Don’t Do

We do not send emails to your clients on your behalf. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not use your generated messages to advertise to you.

4. Service Providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run BudgeHQ, including our hosting and database infrastructure, our AI text-generation provider, and Lemon Squeezy for payments. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and generated messages for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your associated personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, billing records) by law.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and using encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

7. Your Rights

You may access or update your account information at any time, and you may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above.
